Private stargazing sessions

The Moon and planets, from your own terrace.

URSkygaze brings a large telescope and a guide to your place, for a private hour under the night sky.

Booking opens a WhatsApp chat with us.

Jupiter, with its cloud bands and Great Red Spot
Jupiter, drifting through the eyepiece as the Earth turns.

What you'll see

The sky changes with the date and the hour. Before you confirm, we tell you exactly what will be up on your night.

These pictures show more detail than the eye sees. Through the eyepiece, each object is smaller and subtler, and it is the real thing.

  • The full Moon

    The Moon

Craters, mountain ranges and long shadows, sharp enough to feel close.

  • Saturn and its rings

    Saturn

A pale globe with its rings around it, seen with your own eyes.

  • Jupiter

    Jupiter

Cloud bands across the disc, with its four large moons lined up beside it.

  • Stars around the Orion Nebula

    Stars and clusters

On darker nights: star clusters, coloured double stars and glowing clouds such as the Orion Nebula.

How a session works

  1. Click on Book now

Tell us your area and how many of you there are. We suggest nights when the Moon or a bright planet is well placed.

  2. Pick your night

We agree a date and time together and confirm what you'll see. Payment is taken in advance.

  3. We come to you

We arrive with the telescope, set it up on your terrace and guide you through the sky for an hour.

What you need

  • An open terrace or garden with a clear view of the sky.
  • A way up. Tell us the floor and whether there is a lift, because the telescope is large.
  • Nothing else. We bring the telescope, the eyepieces and everything the session needs.

Good to know

Private
Only you and the people you invite. Sessions are planned for two, and more can join on request.
One hour at the eyepiece
Setting up and packing away happen outside your hour.
Late-evening sessions
Sessions run from 10 pm onwards, when the sky is darker and the city is quieter.
Cloudy nights
If clouds hide the sky, we move your session to another night at no extra charge.
Recorded for safety
Sessions are video recorded, openly, for the safety of guests and our team.

Please do not touch the telescope or any of our equipment. The instruments are delicate and precisely aligned, so we handle them for you and you simply look through the eyepiece. Children must stay beside a parent or guardian throughout. If the equipment is handled, we may end the session.

Questions

Do we need to know anything about astronomy?

No. We find each object, bring it into focus and explain what you are looking at.

Will it look like the photos online?

Not exactly. Those photos are long camera exposures. Through the eyepiece, the Moon and planets are sharp and real, though smaller than in pictures, and faint objects appear as soft grey glows.

Is it suitable for children?

Yes, with a parent or guardian beside them. A small stool helps younger children reach the eyepiece.

How many people can join?

Sessions are planned for two. Larger groups are welcome, so tell us the number when you book.

How do I find out the price?

Click on Book now and tell us your area and the size of your group, and we will share the details.
